15 lessons I’ve learned the hard way.

  1. Never forget to put the baking soda in your homemade cake, while it still kind of taste good it loses all of the delightfulness that effectively makes it cake.
  2. Never suggest to your boss that your friend would be a perfect fit for a job opening. Your friend will betray you. Make sure you know the personality of your friend inside and out before you get them the job.
  3. Never cut your own hair unless you know what you’re doing. You’ll have to wear a ponytail until you can get a hair appointment.
  4. Never put too much trust and faith in your mentors, they are people too and inherently have the ability to completely betray you. No matter how flawless you believe they are.
  5. When money is involved loyalty usually follows the money, not the integrity. Most people will do just about anything if the price is right.
  6. One pink sock can ruin a whole batch of whites.
  7. Even if you always have the best of intentions for others this does not mean that they have the best intentions for you. Some people will be in your life until you are no longer useful to them especially if you ask them to do something that doesn’t serve their own self interest.
  8. If you swear in front of a three year old, they will repeat it every. chance. they. get.
  9. If you use half and half in your coffee make sure you dump it out if your not going to drink it especially if all your coffee cups look the same.
  10. Make sure that you do what feels right for you, if you are doing things for the sake of other people and not listening to your soul then you are not living out your purpose, you are living someone else’s. This will always turn sour.
  11. The driveway is always icy in January in 2 degree temperatures. Don’t try to be cute while getting the mail, you will hurt yourself.
  12. Just because you feel a connection with people doesn’t mean that they will always have your best interests at heart. They can and will treat you how you let them treat you and not necessarily how you treat them.
  13. Wanting bad things to happen to people who hurt you is not something you should ever waste your time on. You deserve to have better thoughts.
  14. Always be grateful for every experience; bad ones give you lessons, good ones make life worth living, and the best ones keep you warm at night.
  15. No matter how many times you fall down, get back up, unless you broke something, then lay there until the paramedics arrive.
